Youth belong at the table: meet the youth voices of the Global NDC Conference 2025

Throughout the conference, youth representatives will engage with national decision-makers and international experts. They will share their views on the NDC review and implementation processes, as well as on other key topics such as climate finance.

Youth 2025

As the climate crisis accelerates, young people are, and will continue to be, among the most affected. Youth around the world are not only demanding more ambitious action; they are already shaping solutions in their communities, leading innovations, and driving accountability on climate commitments. The decisions made today will shape their futures, and, as the new generation of leaders, youth will play a key role in putting those commitments into practice.

Addressing the climate crisis effectively means ensuring that youth perspectives are part of the conversation. That is why we are pleased to welcome next week 9 young changemakers from around the world to the Global NDC Conference 2025 in Berlin. This group includes members of youth networks and founders of local initiatives from a variety of countries, including Kenya, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Mexico, India, Ghana, Brazil, Tunisia, and Chile. They bring valuable local and regional perspectives, as well as relevant professional experience, contributing as both participants and speakers in a range of sessions.

Youth bring urgency, creativity, and uncompromising demand for intergenerational fairness

Ahead of the event, the group met virtually to connect, review the agenda, coordinate their contributions, and share their expectations for this year’s Global NDC Conference. A clear message from this session was the need to strengthen youth engagement in international fora, highlight the effect of NDC planning in their own communities, and support effective implementation processes.

Throughout the conference, youth representatives will engage with national decision-makers and international experts. They will share their views on the NDC review and implementation processes, as well as on other key topics such as climate finance. Among those speaking at the different panels is Joshua Amponsem (Youth Climate Justice Fund), who will be discussing pathways for ensuring more secure investment for NDC implementation alongside Pablo Vieira (NDC Partnership), Jo Tyndall (OECD) and other remarkable speakers, on day two of the conference. Additionally, they will be actively engaging during conference formats such as our parallel sessions and leading Solution Labs. After the conference, they will also attend the first week of the Bonn Climate Change Conference in June 2025, supported by the conference partners.
