Facilitators: IIED Contributors: Simon Addison (IIED); Gebru Jember Endalew (Ethiopia); Andrew Komba (Tanzania); Mahfoudh Haji (ZACCA); Daljeet Kaur (DFID)

This session will present concrete examples, drawn from IIED’s research in Tanzania and India, of how innovative climate finance mechanisms are being used to improve the pace and scale of climate change adaptation at the grassroots. Participants will gain an improved understanding of how financing mechanisms such as social protection, decentralized climate finance and private sector banking can be used to increase the pace and scale of NDC implementation.
