Facilitators: UNEP DTU Partnership, WRI Contributors: Macarena Moreira (Argentina); David Ross (Sierra Gorda); Shanar Taleb-Tabrizi (CTCN); Karen Holm Olson (UNEP DTU Partnership); Henning Wuester (ICAT)

Speakers and participants will share experiences on how the ICAT Transformational Change Methodology is applied by governments, support providers and non-state actors to assess the transformational impacts of policies and actions. Through round-table discussions it will explored, how this information is used in investment decisions, policy design and reporting under the UNFCCC to advance enhanced ambition of NDC implementation.

By the end of the session, participants will:

  • understand the concept of ‘Transformational change’ as defined in the ICAT Transformational Change Methodology for assessment of NDC implementation through policies and actions;
  • know of examples on how the information can support climate finance decisions, policy design and international transparency;
  • be better prepared to undertake transformational impact assessment for enhanced ambition of policies and actions for NDC implementation.
