Increasing the resilience of value chains through climate risk management: building synergies with the public and private sector

Facilitators: GIZ, InsuResilience Contributors: Claudia González (Paraguay); Veselina Vasileva (GEPA); Malte Maass (ADB); Sven Willner (PIK)

Value chains have grown more and more complex and become more susceptible to the increase of extreme weather events. Comprehensive climate risk management can help to reduce the risk of weather-related impacts and subsequently secure the livelihood of producers.

The session aims to bring together actors from academia, private sector, multilateral development banks and country representatives to discuss approaches to identify and mitigate risks and cover the residual risks along value chains.
