Aligning finance with the Paris Agreement: practical approaches to mobilising investment for climate outcomes

Facilitators: Chatham House, ODI Contributors: Leo Roberts (ODI); Kirsty Hamilton (Chatham House); Henning Wuester (ICAT)

Countries have committed to making finance consistent with climate goals (under Article 2.1(c) of the Paris Agreement). They are also facing the challenge of financing the mitigation and adaptation activities set out in their respective NDCs. These are two sides of the same coin, with countries needing to drive the shift of private finance from ‘brown to green’ in order to deliver their NDCs. In this session we will look at how governments can drive this shift from a policy perspective, and how improved transparency and engagement can give investors and government the confidence they need to invest in climate action.
