From reporting to action: The role of BTRs in NDC enhancement and implementation

The main objective of this parallel session would be to enhance understanding and provide clarity on the interlinkages between Biennial Transparency Reports (BTRs) and NDCs development and implementation at different stages within the Paris Agreement framework. In order to achieve this, the participants will:

  • Discuss about challenges and opportunities in using BTRs to strengthen NDC design, implementation (including finance mobilization), tracking, and enhancement.
  • Showcase best practices, i.e. share experiences from their countries and institutions on aligning BTRs with NDCs and implementation instruments (finance strategies, country platforms, etc.).
  • Encourage collaboration by foster dialogue among policymakers, experts, financial institutions and other stakeholders to improve transparency mechanisms and climate ambition.
