Taking ambitious climate action can have significant impacts on society by creating quality jobs as well as advancing social justice.

Since the Paris declaration calls member states to “take into account the Just Transition of the workforce and the creation of decent work and quality jobs”, more in more member countries integrate social justice and inclusiveness of the transformation process in their NDSs. To ensure a socially just elaboration of the NDCs, many countries consult with a wide variety of stakeholders. This session will explore the conceptual aspects and practical experiences of incorporating Just Energy Transition into NDCs.
